TWO BONES

Two bones lie parallel
in purple veins
and tissue skin.

Two hands, no flesh
yet gripping still
the fragile thread.

Two eyes reduced
and loose in sockets
glaring still.

One spirit undiminished
taking arms.  Again.
Defiant in the face of Death.
